Summer had to end sometime I guess.....

Wow is it time for Halloween already!?! Have you noticed that after Halloween the year just goes by in a blur......Halloween......Thanksgiving.......Christmas.......New Years......happens so fast! I guess it's time to save some money for presents!
I do love the Fall though. Right now all the trees have bright orange, gold and red leaves that are filling up our gutters. The nights are 40 degrees or lower and we wake to frost on the grass. I do love it though, so pretty.
Another great thing about Fall........Hockey season! yes we love our hockey. We watch the Colorado college tigers play as often as possible and so far this season I have been to 3 out of 5 games and Derek has been to 4 out of 5. Undefeated so far. They are such a great team. Going to the hockey games is such a great treat for us. A great date night. Not too expensive and most of the time free, except parking, since we get free tickets from Derek's grandparents(they have season tickets). Caleb has been to a couple of the games too, he really likes them. Sydney not so much, she actually considers it a punishment. One time we were so proud because we looked over at her in her seat and she said "this is so much fun" we thought she was talking about the game, but turns out she was just talking about how the chair folds up and down! oh well, that's what we got Caleb for right?
My computer is still broken, but hopefully I will have it by Halloween so that I can post some pictures of the kiddos in their costumes.

Life Happens

So I know I haven't written in a while, I guess you can say I've been busy....

So let's see what has happened since the last time? Derek and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary, it was fun. We spent the night in Denver, went to a nice dinner and shopped downtown. I took a bunch of pictures, But my computer is broken and I am using Derek's now. I can't hook my camera to this one.
As some of you may have known I have been trying to lose weight, especially for my upcoming cruise in February. I was doing pretty good till I hurt my foot! I guess what I did to it is called Plantar Fasciitis? I apparently hurt the tissue that connects the heel to the toes. I did this walking(exercising). I went to the doctor and they said to just take a bunch of Motrin and it could take up to 4 weeks to heal, it's been three and it still hurts really bad! I can't do anything, I feel crippled! Hopefully this will heal soon, so that I can get to the gym and reach my goal for the cruise!
Other than that I haven't been doing too much, I am still babysitting during the day which keeps me really busy. Derek and I are starting to slowly fix up the house so that we can sell it hopefully in the spring. Caleb and Sydney are in school. Sydney is in choir this year and seems to like it a lot. Caleb is just his same old wild self!

Giddy up to the Colorado State Fair! Yeeha!

So, we had a wonderful Sunday at the Colorado State Fair! Fun stuff! We got to enjoy all the lovely and smelly farm animals, the kids milked a cow and we saw some cowboys riding horses! Besides being a bit hot, it was great. Thank you again Mom for taking us!!

I'm addicted...........

So I started last Week reading these books...the twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. Oh my goodness I love them! You might have heard of them, they are really popular and there will be a movie for the first book that comes out in December. So I read ALL four books in one week! Each book is about 750 pages! I am insane! Now that I am done I have no idea what to do. I have completely sucked myself into the lives of Bella and her vampire lover Edward! I feel kinda depressed! lol Like I lost a good friend or something. Anyways, I am sure I will get over it, but if you haven't read these books you should.

My little soccer star!

This is the cutest thing I have ever seen! A group of 3 year olds running around dribbling soccer balls! especially with my cute little Caleb in the group haha.

Caleb started soccer today. He will do it all week. He is so athletic it amazes me, he always has been. I have been impatiently waiting till he was old enough to be in ANY sport. I thought I would have to wait till he was at least 4, but I found this really neat British soccer camp that he is just old enough for. He loves it so far. This is exactly what I need to get all that energy out of him! haha

Happy 4th!!!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!! Ours was pretty good. We went out to my Mom's house and had a very nice, relaxing time. The kids got to ride their pony. Caleb really likes the pony now! He doesn't ever want to get off. I think he even likes it more than Sydney. They love it at my Mom's(at the farm). They spent time playing in the dirt and hanging out with the chickens. We had a BBQ, then after dark we set off fireworks. Ours were nothing compared to some of the neighbors, but that's alright they spend the money and we get to enjoy them too. Most of ours were fountains and the kids enjoyed sparklers and black snakes. For the last few years we have spent this holiday with my Dad in Tucson, but decided to stay home this year. It was lots of fun though. Miss ya Dad!! It's alright though because he is taking us on a west Caribbean CRUISE in February!! Yay! can't wait! Oh back to the 4th...the kids ended up staying the night at Grandma's and most of the next day. Derek and I had a blast just having time for ourselves. I don't remember the last time we could talk without being interrupted or just talking about the kids and bills. We had a great time, I hope you all did too!

Renaissance Fun......

We had a GREAT time at the Renaissance Festival on Saturday. The kids are finally at an age to really have fun and appreciate it. The food was awesome as always, the shows funny as usual and the shopping was very interesting. And we managed to make it through the day without getting a sunburn! Yay!
Watching the jousting, eating strawberry icy in a orange peel. yumm.
Daddy took the kids on the elephant. Caleb was very excited about this.
My cute little pirate
It was hot so we had to take a break and play in the fountain.
This is what Sydney got, a hairpiece, very cool. It makes all sorts of different shapes. Caleb got a wooden sword and a belt that holds it. He hasn't let it out of his sight since! He loves it!

YAY for summer!

So here we are finally able to enjoy the pool! The kids have so much fun. So do I, this is the best place to relax when watching kids. There is a snack bar, a large pool, baby pool and a splash pool with fountains! I hope to have many more days like these this summer. The best part about it is how tired the kids are after :)
Sydney and her friend Adrienne
Caleb...of course
Even Bella and little baby Mia get in on the fun.

A blast from the past.....

So, my Mom found these old pictures today. They are pictures of Me, Sydney, My Mom and My Mom's Mom(Grandma). A four generation picture. Isn't Sydney so cute!? I miss her that young. She is getting sooo big! She will be in 3rd grade next year. I also miss the way I looked! Wow, that sure is motivation to get in shape. I never knew I looked that nice. This was about 6 1/2-7 years ago. Time flies, that's for sure. Before I know it my kids will be teenagers. Yikes!

Our Memorial Day weekend......

We had a great weekend. Saturday we just hung around the house and caught up on some rest. Sunday we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo here in the Springs. It was awesome. I love our zoo here, I haven't seen one prettier. Most I am sure will complain about all the hiking and hills you have to climb, but once you stop and enjoy the views, It's amazing. From the side of Cheyenne Mountain you have great views of the whole city. Mainly the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel and Golf Course. There is a new exhibit called "Rocky Mountain Wild", it is awesome. Below are a few pictures of our new animals including...moose, mountain lions, North American river otters, lynx, bald eagles and grizzly bears.

There is also a new ride the "Sky Ride". We didn't go on it, but it looked great and really seems to give you a chance to relax and enjoy the views.

We finished off our weekend on Monday going to Territory Days down in Old Colorado City. I love walking around and looking through all the shops, but, man, was it busy!
